How's your week been?
The weeks can fly by - whether you are pregnant, have a baby or you are juggling family/work - and it’s easy to forget you in all the juggling.
Parents often end up last on the list because there is so much to do and to consider but your wellbeing is important.
So, this is your weekly check-in, to spend a few minutes thinking about how you are doing and what do you need?
How has your week been? Where did any stresses and challenges lie, how did you deal with these and is there anything you could have done differently?
From my own challenging weeks, as well as speaking to many other parents, we can reach the end of the week feeling wrung out and overwhelmed so here’s a couple of things that might help…
think about how you managed the challenges and focus on the positives of this rather than just the challenge - and give yourself a pat on the back for dealing with it. You can use this as learning exercise - is there anything you could change to manage stress differently, especially if this is a common challenge.
can you bring some simple relax & breathe practice into your day to manage stress and help you cope with any anxiety. This is all about connecting with yourself two or three times a day - to slow your breathing down and to relax your muscles so you let go of any tension. And as this becomes familiar to you, you can use it if you ever feel overwhelmed or panicky.
I want this to encourage you to think about what you might need to look after you, do you need to plan in
