It’s easy to get to the end of a busy week and feel not only frazzled, but unsure of what’s gone well. Tiredness, stress and juggling means it’s easier to focus on the tiredness, the stress and the juggling.
So it’s worth a few moments to think about the positives - build a new habit around what went well.
You can create a daily habit of noting down - in a book or on your phone - what went well today and why. It can be short and to the point or you can write paragraphs - whatever works for you and the time you have.
Note - if you keep it brief, it may feel less like a chore and become easier to achieve. And then at the end of the week, ask yourself how you are feeling and note down what went well this week and why?
There isn't a right way to do this, it's about getting started and finding what works for you. By creating a consistent habit of bringing these tools into your life, they become familiar and easier to use.
It's a quick way of making time for you, to remind yourself of what is going well and acknowledging the challenges, how you deal with them and thinking about what you need.
And don’t forget to use your breathing
As we looked at last week, your breathing matters because it helps to balance your body, it eases tension and it keeps you calm.
So let’s focus on bringing this into your day so you can get the benefit of it.
Relax & Breathe is a great way to start your day – just a couple of minutes before you start to get busy.
You can focus on your breathing:
as you lie in bed, before you get up for the day
on the loo
as you have a wash
in the shower
on the train
before you get out of the car when you arrive at work
when you get to work
or you could just sit for a couple of minutes
Relax & Breathe To Start Your Day
Make it your own – fit it into your morning routine when it works best for you.
The important thing is to get started, maybe even set a reminder on your phone.
It’s investing a few minutes in you.
Let me know if you have any questions and let me know how you get on.
