What’s been good this week? As a parent, some weeks are stressy and overwhelming with juggling, dealing with different challenges and feeling like there is no thinking space. This is why I feel like it matters to think about the small things that have made a difference in your week - the good stuff doesn’t have to be big.
We can be grateful for some of the big stuff in life - family, home, health, work - but it’s the small details that can get you through the tricky days and acknowledging how well you have managed the challenges.
As an example, this week for me has been busy with seeing parents and developing my practice, while also being present and active at home. I’ve also not been feeling too well lately so it’s been managing that as well.
So the good stuff for me this week is around:
having a plan for my practice and thinking about what I want to achieve - I feel like so many blocks have fallen into place
making time to read more
prioritising getting out for a walk
enjoying an evening in the sunshine
having conversations with my kids
finally facing up to some health checks.
and I’ve been focusing on my breathing more to be more relaxed and grounded during the day, I am always busy and I don’t want to be carrying tension and stress around with me.
So, what about your week?
How has it been? What’s been good? How have you managed the challenges? It makes a difference to think about how you managed any challenges because it can add a positive perspective rather than only focusing on something that was difficult.
Thanks for reading, I hope it has been useful to think about what could be helpful at the end of a stressful day or week. Please do share, comment and subscribe and you can also arrange sessions with me to talk through any challenges and managing the stress that can come with family life.
